Special EventsAlong with regular classes at the hospital we also offer special events that we would like the community to participate in. Special events include our bi-monthly blood drives, health screenings and clinics to name a few. Winter 2007Walkin’ in the Rain 2007 Free health screenings include: body measurements, osteoporosis screening, blood pressure and body composition. Other screenings that include a small fee are: lipid panel profile including glucose ($25 – requires 14 hour fast), TSH ($15 – thyroid stimulating hormone) and PSA ($15 – prostate specific antigen). Participate in a 2 mile walk and get your heart rate checked. Other health education booths will be available. For more information, please call VGH Community Development at 360-794-1411. Community Blood Drives Fall 2006Community Blood Drive Clinics Valley General Hospital Hosts Vaccination Clinic Flu vaccine – $30 (adults) All fees must be paid in cash or check made payable to Snohomish Health District. No debit or credit cards. All immunizations are available on a sliding fee scale basis depending on household size and gross combined income. Snohomish Health District bills Medicaid and Medicare. Clients with Medicare and an HMO are encouraged to received their immunizations at their private provider or pay the fee noted above. Snohomish Health District is not a covered provider for private HMO’s. Annual vaccination is recommended for persons with conditions that increase the risk of influenza complications.
