Special Events

Along with regular classes at the hospital we also offer special events that we would like the community to participate in. Special events include our bi-monthly blood drives, health screenings and clinics to name a few. Seasonal Flu
Seasonal Flu shots will be available with your primary care provider and at local pharmacies beginning in October.  The seasonal vaccine will not prevent H1N1.

Walkin’ in the Rain 2007
Start the New Year off on a healthy foot. Valley General Hospital’s annual health fair Walkin’ in the Rain is just around the corner. The health fair is on Saturday, February 10 from 9 a.m. – Noon. Screenings and booths will be set up in the hospital’s Main Lobby as well as in VGH Sports and Physical Therapy in the Sky River Medical Center.

Free health screenings include: body measurements, osteoporosis screening, blood pressure and body composition. Other screenings that include a small fee are: lipid panel profile including glucose ($25 – requires 14 hour fast), TSH ($15 – thyroid stimulating hormone) and PSA ($15 – prostate specific antigen).

Participate in a 2 mile walk and get your heart rate checked. Other health education booths will be available. For more information, please call VGH Community Development at 360-794-1411.

Clinics
A free women’s screening event in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as well as a flu clinic will be provided this fall 2006 by Valley General Hospital. For more information, please call the Community Development department at 360-794-1411.

Valley General Hospital Hosts Vaccination Clinic
On November 4 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Valley General will be holding a vaccination clinic with co-sponsorship with the Snohomish Health District. Below is a list of vaccinations that will be available:

Flu vaccine – $30 (adults)
Flu vaccine – $30 (children) ($15 if you qualify for the Vaccine for Children Program)
Pneumonia immunization – $48 (adults only)
Tetanus/diphtheria immunization – $42 (adults only)
Tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis immunization – $61 (adults only)

All fees must be paid in cash or check made payable to Snohomish Health District. No debit or credit cards. All immunizations are available on a sliding fee scale basis depending on household size and gross combined income.

Snohomish Health District bills Medicaid and Medicare. Clients with Medicare and an HMO are encouraged to received their immunizations at their private provider or pay the fee noted above. Snohomish Health District is not a covered provider for private HMO’s. Annual vaccination is recommended for persons with conditions that increase the risk of influenza complications. Spring 2006

A Mother/Daughter Style Fair – Snohomish
Valley General Hospital will be attending and co-sponsoring this Mother – Daughter Style Fair, on Saturday, May 6 from 1 – 4 p.m. The event will be held at Snohomish High School’s Performing Arts Center. Come see what Women’s Services Valley General Hospital has to offer. Receive a free give-a-away. See booth for more details.
