Psychiatrist Syed Jafar holds clinic hours at VGH

Monroe, WA – Syed Jafar, MBBS, is a board-certified general and adult psychiatrist. He is currently the Medical Director of the Geriatric Psychiatry unit at Valley General Hospital. Dr. Jafar will now be holding office hours in Valley General Hospital’s Specialty Suites in the Sky River Medical Center in Monroe during the afternoon, Monday – Friday.

“There are no mental health practitioners in this area and I saw the need to hold these clinic hours,” stated Dr. Jafar. “Psychiatric health is just as important as a medical illness, and they both require immediate treatment and attention.”

Dr. Jafar completed his medical education in Pakistan. After medical school he completed a residency at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. For the last few years, Dr. Jafar has been doing outpatient, inpatient and consultations and liaisons psychiatry. He has special interest in treating depression, anxiety and cognitive disorders in elderly.
