We believe that chemical dependency is a disease with its own set of progressive symptoms which may be identified and treated. We also believe that it manifests itself uniquely in each individual and family and that recovery is a dynamic process.
The program utilizes well-recognized and researched models of treatment/counseling including the Minnesota Model, the Pennsylvania Model, Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), and Relapse Prevention.
We are committed to deliver recovery-based treatment in a therapeutic client-centered environment which respects each individual’s rights, dignity and needs. We work collaboratively with the client and their family in the recovery process.
The Recovery Center operates with a multidisciplinary Treatment Team: the Medical Director (an addictionologist), a consulting psychiatrist, CDP’s (Chemical Dependency Professionals), ARNP’s, Licensed Nurses, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Registered Dieticians, Pharmacists and a Pastoral Counselor.
Patients are assigned to a Counselor who is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional who works with the patient and their family throughout their stay.
Dr. William Dickinson (DO, FASAM, FAAP) is the Medical Director of the unit and David Anderson, LMHC, CDP is the Program Manager.
Our services include:
- Assessment and evaluation is provided by a Chemical Dependency Professional, and results in a diagnosis and recommendation for an appropriate level of care using the American Society of Addiction Medicine Patient Placement Criteria 2-R.
- Residential Treatment is a 21 day program which utilizes a therapeutic community treatment modality and incorporates 12 step programs as well as other recovery models. We provide education and relapse prevention planning and intensive group, individual, and family counseling.
- CUP Program (Chemical-Using and Pregnant) is a 26 day program (including detoxification provided at another facility) which follows the same model as the Residential Treatment Program with the addition of medical monitoring of the pregnancy, methadone therapy if needed, and education (regarding pregnancy, parenting skills, birthing classes).
- Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is an outpatient treatment program consisting of 24 group sessions taking place three times per week for eight weeks. Drug screens are completed monthly (and as needed) to monitor the effectiveness of the program.
- Day Treatment Program is a program with a variable length of stay which follows the same model as the Residential Treatment Program but which is intended for clients who have a strong home support system but require a highly structured program to help them abstain. Clients begin treatment at 8 a.m. and can stay until 10 p.m. daily.
- Aftercare Program is an outpatient treatment program which meets one time per week to offer continued support for clients who have completed a higher level of care but require further support and monitoring. Drug screens are completed monthly (and as needed) to monitor the effectiveness of the program.
- Monitoring Program is an outpatient program which meets one time per month in order to provide drug testing and confirmation of attendance for persons who are court-ordered or mandated by an employer to do so.
- Sub-Acute Detoxification is a program track within the Residential Program which offers a 2-3 day detoxification process to persons who are medically stable and who are highly unlikely to suffer any significant negative effects during a detoxification process but who do require a level of medication and monitoring to successfully detoxify. This program will begin in the spring of 2008.
