Cancer Comfort ProgramMany long hours are spent at the hospital when you are undergoing chemotherapy treatment. As a way to provide patients and their loved ones a more pleasurable experience during this time, the VGH Foundation recently released funds to purchase battery-operated portable DVD players, as well as a library of DVDs. In addition, snacks and/or luncheons are provided free of charge to our cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. “These small gestures go miles with our cancer patients,” states Ranelle Wolfe, oncology nurse. Our thoroughly experienced Oncology Certified Nurse Specialists will care for you with compassion, and help answer your cancer and treatment questions. Cancer SupportValley General Hospital provides our community with a cancer support group that meets every Monday of the month from 6:30 – 8 p.m. on the second floor of the hospital. The support group is for patients, caregivers, family members and friends to come together to give and receive support and to promote a new sense of strength and healing.
