Early Detection for Breast Cancer

Early detection is the key to successful treatment of many types of cancer. To detect breast cancer early, women over age 20 should perform a breast self exam (BSE) every month. A woman who is familiar with her breasts will most likely notice early changes that occur.

If you are over age 40, you should have a mammogram every year. Valley General Hospital offers convenient mammography (breast x-rays) appointments on site for the early detection of breast cancer.
